Sin: Kissing

1.And I Sigh
2.The Raven
3.The Game of Despise
4.Erasure
5.Geena
6.Kim Fowley’s gonna die
7.Doubts
8.The Crawl
9.Venus in Furs

„Kissing“ features 9 tracks including 2 cover versions (Placebo’s „The Crawl“ and the Velvet Underground classic „Venus in Furs“). The other songs were all written by SIn. Although the sound has obviously more percussion and ethnical elements than the „Insinuation“ album it still identifies as a typical Sin record: Mona Moore’s deep, sultry, breathy voice backed by looping vibrating 3D electronica wraps itself around this collection of great songs. The dreamy - occasionaly rough - yet sizzling athmospere make this eerie, anthemic, downtempo home-listening of the highest quality

Sin: And I Sigh

1: And I Sigh (original version)
2: And I Sigh (Freedom Satellite remix)
2: And I Sigh (Kirlian remix)

Track 1 is Sin’s own version of "„And I Sigh". Loads of congas, timbales together with some latin piano parts, strings and a simple bassline back Mona Moore’s deep, sultry, breathy voice in this vibrating, addictive sorta-latin hum along thing. Vienna based Freedom Satellite (from Vienna Scientists fame) deliver a sunny excursion into their very own downtempo latino world. Tons of congas, shakers and and an acoustic guitar riff to kill for create that laidback chilly groove the Freedom Satellite guys are best known for. Nicely blending with Mona Moore’s swaying voice. Completly new interpretation of the theme, very open-airy, summer-style. New York producer and deejay Kirlian aka Abe Duque (Disko B. & Tension Rec) takes you to the darker jazzier sides of Queens. Very slow. Kicking with a dancehalll style bassdrum with lots of latin percussion. With jazz-licks that make you come right in your pants. And on top of it all the vocals like the icing of a cake take you onto a trippy journey into some dark urban night.

This baby rides in on a fresh spring breeze

1989 gründen Mona Moore, Andy Orel and Richard Dorfmeister die Band Sin. Sin verpacken unendliche Melancholie und die divaesken Posen der Frontdame Mona Moore in bittersüßen Elektropop. 1990 erscheint die erste Single "Where Shall I Turn?".

Wohl bekomm's.

Hi Mona!

First of all thank you so much for the CD. You have absolutly no idea how
much this means to me right now. Andy & Yourself as Sin have been one of the
few things that have remained with me for all this time now. It's been 6
years since I left Austria and I still believe no week passes where I dont
listen to your music with a little "Schweremut". SIN was the soundtrack of
my life for so many years now, and everything new and exciting still gets
celebrated with a sin Track. So many of my friends have also been captivated
by your songs, whereas "On Boulevards" and "Julia" as well as "Heartbeat"
always seem to become instant favourites with people I introduce to sin, no
matter in which order I introduce them to your Album.

This new Album of yours suprised me and schocked me in some ways but toched
me more than i thought it would. Its incredible.
Too often we become greedy and we expect the artists we love to follow a
certain path or progress in a certain way. I think thats what I did when I
listened to AbSINth for the first time about a week ago now. But the way
this music touched me is mindblowing.

I almost felt like a pervert, preying into your life and soul this much. And
if I am wrong and those songs are just clever arrangements of people and
lifes you dream of you fear I have to say you gave this girl with the
bleeding heart and soul a voice that gave her a life of her own.

This album is incredible. My instant favourites were "Wishful Thinking" and
"Poem for Raphaelle". "Poem For Raphaelle" seems to take me away to a
different world after the first few beats. Then your Voice cutting in like a
devine ghost. And then to my biggest suprise your words turning into french,
a language I am not the biggest fan of, but you manage to let me forget that
I do not understand a single word but make be believe I can feel every
emotion. WOW!
Wishfull Thinking touched me for a different reason. The day I heared the
song I was struggeling to explain my feelings and relationship I have with
soemone at the moment to myself. And all of a sudden there it was, and
instead of seeing it with sad eyes I learnt to aknowledge the wonderful
gifts this boy brought into my life and be thankful for what I get and not
what I think I should be entitled to. I understand that this is not the
meaning of your song but sometimes the right words and the right perspective
helps us to understand certain things that are only related by
six-degrees-of-seperation...

"Sex is more" is such a sober, but still deep, such a realistic but still
spiritual journey for me. I fell in love with it right away.
I was also pleased to see "So Sad" and "Der Rosmarienbaum" on the album.
But I also have to admit, as a fan that craves to hear new creation from you
I felt a bit cheated, but they perfectly suit the album. So its only the
greed " des Nimmersatten" fans talking.

" My Plants Are Enough " - I will not deny that a small smirk crossed my
face when I read that title. But it seems to be the most personal song on
this album and once you forget and listen this song enchants you. I still
cannot believe how bare and naked you leave that girl. But at the same time
you see her dark beauty and resignation that only those words would allow.
Thank you so much for that song and allowing me to understand that girl,
whoever she might be, a little better.

The other songs and me are still getting to know each other but I love that
challenge. Its always like that. Your music grows faster than me and I love
the race to catch up and run after them and grow with them and slowly
understand them and their part in the game. Thats why your music manages to
facinate me over and over again and I already know it will take me a whikle
to catch up.

A new sin album and Tori was here in australia to celebrate this new start
with. Music has always been my biggest passion and therefor that was one
hell of a way to celebrate my new life.

Thank you so much

All my love to both of you and thnaks for enchanting and challenging me
again

Love

Léon
